The first big music festival of the 2009 concert season, Coachella, has finally released their artist lineup, after putting it off for several days.
Early this morning, they revealed their day-by-day lineup, which includes headliners Paul McCartney, The Killers and The Cure, who will be closing out the festival on Sunday, April 19.
Fans should also be happy with two other big names: the more-recently reunited, My Bloody Valentine, who were a heavily speculated rumor last year, as well as Morrissey, although everyone keeps hoping for that Smiths reunion that will probably never happen.
Other big names include Franz Ferdinand, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and the messed up Amy Winehouse. And look, they even got Leonard Cohen to come out for the festival this year. That's cool.
The lineup goes on to feature a plethora of young buzz bands, as well as some vets of the music biz including Paul Weller, Henry Rollins, Perry Farrell and Public Enemy.
Some of my personal favorites include TV on the Radio, Band of Horses, Fleet Foxes, Conor Oberst, The Hold Steady, Dr. Dog, Ryan Bingham and the Gaslight Anthem. However, I won't be attending the festival, as I never have, simply because of the location and travel expenses.
The festival returns April 17-April 19, at the Empire Polo Club Field, located in the desert of Indio, California. For all the information you need, regarding tickets and travel packages, check out http://www.coachella.com/
