Local Bands Going West to Texas

In just a few weeks, thousands of bands from across the world will ascend on downtown Austin, Texas, for the annual South by Southwest Music Festival. Once again, some of our cities best will be represented at the festival.

On Wednesday, March 18, the Heartless Bastards will be playing at 8 pm at Stubb's, a restaraunt/music venue, famous for their BBQ. They're opening for the Avett Brothers and the Decemberists who are on at 9 pm and 10 pm, respectively.

On the same night, Seabird will be making their SXSW debut as the headliners at Wave, with their show starting at 1 am. Also on the bill are The Day After..., Nacional and The Pragmatic.

Another local band's debut falls on the same evening, at the same building. The Seedy Seeds are playing the Wave Rooftop at 10 pm. They will be joined by Gram Rabbit, The Ghost, Mixtapes & Cellmates and Anchorsong.

Kim Taylor is returning to the festival, playing on Thursday, March 19 at the live.create lounge. She's onstage at 8 pm, and is opening for Tina Dico and Alina Simone, who play at 9 and 10, respectively.

There's one more local who will be playing his first show at SXSW. Daniel Martin Moore is playing at the Radio Room on that Thursday night at 10:30 pm. He'll be sharing the stage with Mark Sultan, Tiny Vipers and Pretty & Nice.
