Bonnaroo 2009 Artist: Alberta Cross

Alberta Cross is a bluesy, folk-rock band originally from London, currently based out of New York.

Songwriters' Petter Ericson Stakee and Terry Wolfers have been influenced since a young age by the sounds of bands and artists like The Band, Van Morrison and Leonard Cohen.

Aside from blues and folk, Alberta Cross also mixes in a little roots rock, gospel and soul to create a sound that is drawing comparisons ranging from Neil Young and The White Stripes, to The Felice Brothers and Deer Tick. They have shared the stage with bands like Oasis, The Shins and Simian Mobile Disco.

2007 saw two releases from the band: The first, an EP called Leave Us Or Forgive Us, and the mini-album, The Thief & The Heartbreaker.

Alberta Cross look to release their first, full-length album this April or May, on Ark Recordings.
