Here's a rundown of what's happening locally, in the world of music:
Monday, March 9
Southgate House
Agent Orange with SS-20 and Liquid Limbs in the ballroom...
Jonathan Tyler & the Northern Lights with Grooveshire in the parlour...
Open Mic Night in the lounge...
Open Mic Night at the Southgate House is known as one of the cities best open mic nights. I've been going on and off since last fall, and there really are some good players there. In my opinion, it'd be nice to see some of them record an album or EP, and get some shows booked, at least locally to start out. You may think open mic nights are just okay at best...but at shows like these, great talent CAN be discovered.
Tuesday, March 10
U.S. Bank Arena
Billy Joel & Elton John
Southgate House
Here We Go Magic with Callers and Peter Adams & the Nocturnal Collective in the parlour...
Here We Go Magic is currently hitting the road hard, where they'll be seeing much of the east coast, as well as the northeast. But the best part for them, may be the five shows they'll be playing at this year's SXSW Festival - the first being a gig with Akron/Family.

Whichever one you choose, you win. Both Wussy and Pomegranates are among the best in the local scene.
