Rodrigo Sanchez (lead guitar) and Gabriela Quintero (rhythm guitar) met in Mexico while playing in a thrash metal band called Tierra Acida.
They left metal for acoustic, although they still wear their roots proudly on their sleeves. Now they play fast paced, instrumental/classical guitar style, as well as making it very rhythmatic, along with guitar/feet pounding, adding a little bass and depth.
They became frustrated with the limitations of the local music scene and high-tailed it to Ireland. Talk about Luck 'O the Irish. Damien Rice got them their break, when they were signed on to play the Oxegen Festival, an annual festival in Kildare, Ireland that hosts an average of 80,000 people a day.
They were arguably one of the greatest shows on the first night of Bonnaroo 2007, with an audience spilling well outside of the tent and beyond. They killed it, and their covers of Metallica and Pink Floyd songs (with crowd sing alongs) didn't hurt either.
