Indie Rock Invades Mad Hatter Tonight

A few, very fine, up and coming indie rock bands are taking over the Mad Hatter tonight.

Tokyo Police Club is a Canadian indie rock band, who write catchy, danceable tunes. They stop in Covington tonight, as they're on their way to play the Harvest of Hope Festival in St. Augustine, FL, later in the week. Other acts at that festival include Against Me!, The National, Girl Talk, GZA, Bad Brains, Bouncing Souls, Less Than Jake, The Gaslight Anthem, Black Kids and Ra Ra Riot. For fans of Ra Ra Riot, Foals, Vampire Weekend and Wolf Parade.

Harlem Shakes are an indie rock band from Brooklyn, whose sound and melodies bring to mind classic New York, vintage pop rock and doo wop. For fans of the Handsome Furs, Illinois and the Broken West. Also playing Harvest of Hope Festival, as well as South by Southwest. They'll be doing some shows coming up with Bell X-1, including Philadelphia's World Cafe Live.

Opening the show is Ruby Coast, a newish Canadian indie rock band, who just released their first EP a few months ago. You'll probaby like them if you like the other two bands on the bill. Also playing Harvest of Hope and South by Southwest. Ra Ra Riot will be joining them on the road for a few shows.
