Gomez are an alternative, British-pop band from Southport, England, that signed to Virgin Records in 1997. They are currently signed to Dave Matthews' ATO Records.
Their debut album, Bring It On, won the Mercury Music Prize in 1998. Early on in the band's career, they earned a spot opening on the Eagle Eye Cherry tour.
Gomez were beginning to break through with the release of their third album, 2002's In Our Gun. The album made the top 10 on the UK charts and the top 50 on the Australian charts.
They later on went into the studio to work on their fourth album, with famed producer Tchad Blake (Tom Waits, Crowded House, Pearl Jam).
Gomez have been touring extensively over the past several years playing festivals such as Coachella, Bonnaroo, Beale Street, JazzFest, Sasquatch and Jam Cruise, as well as tours with the Dave Matthews Band, John Mayer, Cake, OAR and Ben Kweller.
Their upcoming album, A New Tide, will be out on March 31.
