Louisville's Forecastle Festival

Although only four bands have been announced, I'm already impressed. Two nights of Widespread Panic, the Black Crowes, the Black Keys and the Avett Brothers.

They'll be adding 65 other bands and DJ's to the lineup, but the festival is already looking better than last year.

The 8th annual festival takes place July 10-12 on Louisville's riverfront. Pre-sale tickets are $40 a day or $100 for the weekend.

There's a kick-off party on Thursday, July 9 at Glassworks Rooftop, featuring performances from local and regional bands and DJ's, that will be announced at a later date.

There's also an after-party on both Friday and Saturday nights, on the Belle of Louisville (a big ass boat), also including performances by bands and DJ's.

Sounds like a good time. I've never been. Maybe I'll go. I don't know Louisville to well, but it's only an hour drive or so.

Why is My Morning Jacket not headlining this thing? They are from Louisville. Maybe they'll be an addition. One can hope.
