CincyPunk Updates

The eighth installment of the CincyPunk Music Festival is just around the corner, once again taking place at Newport's Historic Southgate House, on the weekend of April 10 and 11.

The music festival was born out of cincypunk.org, a music forum where fans can spread word across the globe about their favorite bands.

As for the festival, don't be confused by the name. Although they started out heavy in booking mostly punk acts, the festival has expanded to include many styles of music, while maintaining a "punk/DIY attitude."

The festival has raised over $18,000 in the past four years, which have all been donated to several charities including Lighthouse Youth Services of Cincinnati, the Mental Health Association of Northern Kentucky, the Women's Crisis Center of Northern Kentucky and YMCA Camp Ernst's Core Character Values scholarship program for inner-city youths.

This year's proceeds will be going to benefit the Animal Adoption Foundation, a non-profit/no kill animal shelter operating in Harrison, OH for the past thirty-seven years.
